Who Gets One?

Student, Faculty, and Staff Cards

All students, faculty, and staff at the University of Calgary need a Unicard.

Students are eligible to receive a Unicard once they have registered for classes and have an eID. If you’re in a graduate program without coursework your registration needs to be initialized to get a Unicard.

Staff and Faculty become eligible on their first day of work.

Get Your Card

Submit a photo online to have your Unicard printed for you ahead of arriving on campus. If your work or studies require you to be on campus this fall, submit your photo now!

Photos can not be taken in person at the Customer Service Centre. You must send your picture by submitting it online.

Unicards must be picked up in person, by the cardholder.

Guest Cards

The guest Unicard can be used as an on-campus debit card for printing and photocopying services.

Guests can purchase a card from the Unicard Reload Stations in the Taylor Family Digital Library or HSC. Guest cards cost $1 and can be loaded after purchase.

When you purchase your card you agree the conditions stated in the Guest Unicard Agreement. Keep your guest card - even if you are only on campus for a short amount of time, your card will remain active for your next visit.

*These stations accept Canadian $5, $10, and $20 bills and $1 and $2 coins.

Use "lost my card" as the subject line.  Your card will be put on hold until you come in and get a replacement card or until you find your old one. If you purchase a replacement card, all old cards will become completely deactivated.  Deactivated cards cannot be reactivated if found.

No. Once a new card has been created, all old cards are automatically and irrevocably deactivated.
